These Terms of Use (the "Terms") govern your use of the Stlog macOS application and the Stlog legal website. By downloading, installing, or using Stlog, you agree to these Terms.

If you obtain Stlog through Apple's App Store, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement ("Apple Standard EULA") also applies. These Terms supplement and do not replace the Apple Standard EULA. If there is a conflict about the license to the application, the Apple Standard EULA controls to the extent required by Apple or applicable law.

1. Who May Use Stlog

You must be legally capable of entering into these Terms. Stlog is not directed to children under 16. If you use Stlog for work, you are responsible for confirming that your employer, client, device owner, and applicable policies allow that use.

2. The Service

Stlog is a local-first personal work-log and draft-preparation tool. It can capture activity context on your Mac, accept manual notes and Git activity, generate work-update drafts, and help you export or submit reviewed content.

The current release does not provide a Stlog account, team workspace, or cloud backup of your work logs. Features may depend on macOS permissions, Apple StoreKit verification, the Stlog managed AI service, and Google Cloud.

3. License

Subject to these Terms and the applicable App Store license, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Stlog on devices you own or control for personal or internal business purposes.

You may not:

  • copy, resell, rent, sublicense, or distribute Stlog except as permitted by applicable law or the App Store license
  • bypass technical protections or access restrictions
  • reverse engineer Stlog except where applicable law expressly permits it
  • use Stlog to violate law, contractual duties, or another person's rights
  • use Stlog to secretly monitor another person or a device you are not authorized to monitor
  • use Stlog to collect passwords, authentication secrets, payment data, or other sensitive information about another person
  • misrepresent AI-generated text as verified fact without reviewing it

4. Your Work Content

You retain your rights in notes, activity records, drafts, and other content you process with Stlog. Completed records remain local. When you request Stlog AI, you grant the operator only the limited permission needed to transmit and process the redacted prompt, return the result, secure the service, enforce entitlement and quota, and comply with law. This permission ends when those purposes no longer require the content.

You are responsible for:

  • having the right to process the content and device activity you capture
  • configuring exclusions and pausing capture in private contexts
  • reviewing and correcting captured records and generated drafts
  • protecting exported files and local backups
  • obtaining any workplace, client, or third-party approval required before sending content to Stlog AI or another app

5. Capture And Automation

Automatic capture requires you to enable the feature and grant macOS permissions. Stlog may process active app context, window titles, workspace paths, keyboard activity timing and event counts, and whether a paste shortcut occurred. Automatic capture does not reconstruct or store typed characters and does not read or store clipboard contents. Pattern-based redaction reduces but does not eliminate the risk of sensitive information appearing in other local content such as manual notes, imported activity, or app and window context.

If you enable Work Rhythm, Stlog may start and stop capture at the times you configure. After you accept the Stlog AI transfer disclosure, enabling automatic Daily Wrap preparation allows Stlog to send a redacted draft prompt and Apple-signed entitlement material to Stlog's Google Cloud service at the wrap-up time without another button press. The service verifies the Apple material and routes only the redacted prompt to OpenAI. Withdrawing consent disables automatic Daily Wrap. Stlog does not automatically publish or submit the resulting draft.

You can pause capture, disable Work Rhythm, revoke macOS permissions, or delete local records at any time.

6. AI-Generated Drafts

Drafts may be incomplete, inaccurate, misleading, or unsuitable for your workplace. Stlog does not verify that generated text is true, complete, confidentiality-safe, or compliant with your employer's rules.

You must review and approve a draft before relying on, copying, publishing, or submitting it. You remain responsible for the final content and any decision or communication based on it. Stlog is not a legal, employment, compliance, accounting, or professional-advice service.

7. Managed AI And Third-Party Services

Stlog AI is operated through Google Cloud and uses a server-selected OpenAI model. The app also relies on Apple services for distribution, StoreKit signed material, purchases, and subscriptions. These services may be unavailable, change their terms, or process data under their own policies.

Stlog does not ask you to install a model-provider CLI, connect a separate AI account, paste an AI-provider API key, or select the underlying provider or model. You remain responsible for having authority to send work content to Stlog AI and for complying with workplace, client, and legal restrictions. Third-party service liability is excluded only to the extent permitted by law.

8. Purchases And Subscriptions

Stlog Pro is offered as an automatically renewing monthly or annual subscription through the App Store. Both billing periods unlock the same Pro features; only the billing period and price differ. The app shows the current localized price, billing period, included features, and renewal terms before you confirm a purchase.

Where a free trial is offered and you are eligible, the trial lasts for the period shown before purchase. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial or current subscription period ends, the subscription automatically renews and Apple charges your Apple Account at the displayed price. Apple may notify you and request consent where a price change requires it.

Apple processes the transaction. Its payment, cancellation, purchase-restoration, and refund rules apply. Stlog does not receive or store your payment-card or bank-account details. You can restore eligible purchases in Stlog and manage or cancel the subscription through your Apple Account settings. Deleting Stlog does not cancel a subscription.

When a trial or subscription ends, Pro automation and its one-successful-draft- per-day Stlog AI allowance become unavailable; the Free allowance of up to three successful Stlog AI daily drafts per calendar month applies instead. Existing local logs, notes, and Daily Wraps remain available, including the controls to view, edit, export, and delete them. Stlog does not delete or shorten local data because a subscription expires.

9. Privacy

The Stlog Privacy Policy explains how Stlog handles information and is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

10. Updates And Availability

We may add, change, suspend, or remove features to improve safety, comply with law, or maintain the product. We will not intentionally convert private local work logs into shared team data without a separate feature, clear notice, and an explicit user action.

Stlog may be unavailable because of macOS changes, device settings, third-party services, network conditions, maintenance, or other events outside our control.

11. Disclaimer

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Stlog is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, complete capture, perfect redaction, error-free AI output, or compatibility with every app, device, workplace, or third-party service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot be excluded under the law that applies to you.

12. Limitation Of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Jeonguk Hur is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, or for loss of profits, business, data, goodwill, or opportunity arising from Stlog or a third-party service.

For any claim relating to Stlog, our aggregate liability will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for Stlog during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or USD 50. This limit does not apply where liability cannot legally be limited, including liability for fraud, willful misconduct, or other non-excludable consumer rights.

13. Suspension And Termination

You may stop using Stlog at any time. Before uninstalling, use the in-app delete control if you want local Application Support files removed, and manage any App Store subscription separately.

We may suspend access to future online or paid features if reasonably necessary to prevent abuse, protect security, or comply with law. Termination does not affect provisions that by their nature should survive, including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute terms.

14. Changes To These Terms

We may update these Terms when features, business terms, or legal requirements change. We will update the date above and provide additional notice when a change materially affects your rights. Continuing to use Stlog after the new Terms take effect means you accept them, except where applicable law requires a different form of consent.

15. Governing Law And Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protections and rights to bring a claim in your country of residence remain unaffected.

Before filing a formal claim, please contact privacy@stlog.ai so that we can try to resolve the issue informally. This section does not prevent either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief or using a regulator, consumer body, or small-claims process where available.
